.....Well this is an exciting
prospect... a little scary too! More than a little, because I have not ever traveled and explored on my own.
.....Lots of experience being the passenger though. Navigation and map skills, plus reading the street signs... that's been my forte. But I'm
alone now. (Read more about it at
"My Widow's Walk")

.....This is a whole new thing for me. Yet.... never fear! I have a friend, and he gives me confidence. He will help me if I get lost (which I will, as past experience shows), patiently talk me through my mistakes, misunderstandings, and miscalculations.
....."Who is this wonderful helper?" you ask. [continued at right - "Wonderful Helper???"]

That's More Like It!

Today's story is not nearly so sad. Why? Because I did what I set out to do. That's right... I went to the Heard Museum. What a beautiful place. Well worth all the traffic I had to drive through to get there.

Mr. Gee and I decided to start off on I-10 today, instead of the 101. It was still tricky... a lot of other cars decided to use the same road, but we did it.

Then when I parked downtown at the museum, I tried out the Where Am I? feature on the GPS, to help me find the car when I was ready to leave and go home. That meant I kept Mr. Gee with me (in my purse) instead of leaving him in the car. So it was easy to find Stubby. (Also, I went early, and it was a week-day. There weren't many cars in the lot.)

All in all, it was a successful morning. The displays and information at this museum are wonderful. I can add another successful destination challenge to my score. Now hmmmm... where will I go next?
