.....Well this is an exciting
prospect... a little scary too! More than a little, because I have not ever traveled and explored on my own.
.....Lots of experience being the passenger though. Navigation and map skills, plus reading the street signs... that's been my forte. But I'm
alone now. (Read more about it at
"My Widow's Walk")

.....This is a whole new thing for me. Yet.... never fear! I have a friend, and he gives me confidence. He will help me if I get lost (which I will, as past experience shows), patiently talk me through my mistakes, misunderstandings, and miscalculations.
....."Who is this wonderful helper?" you ask. [continued at right - "Wonderful Helper???"]

Short Trips

Just some short trips and errands today. I probably logged about 5 GPS-assisted miles. And yes, it involved getting on and off the freeway... so that's good. (I've updated the Score Card below.)

Mr. G seems to take every opportunity to direct me to a freeway. I think it's a conspiracy! My first reaction is always "Oh no... not again!" when I realize where he's taking me, but I know it's a good thing too. The more times I use those 'on' and 'off' ramps, the easier it will be.

Sounds like Mr. G. is set for "fastest time." On my 260, I can choose "fastest time" or "shortest distance."

You're right Sue. It's set for fastest time. But that's OK... I need the on and off practice!
