.....Well this is an exciting
prospect... a little scary too! More than a little, because I have not ever traveled and explored on my own.
.....Lots of experience being the passenger though. Navigation and map skills, plus reading the street signs... that's been my forte. But I'm
alone now. (Read more about it at
"My Widow's Walk")

.....This is a whole new thing for me. Yet.... never fear! I have a friend, and he gives me confidence. He will help me if I get lost (which I will, as past experience shows), patiently talk me through my mistakes, misunderstandings, and miscalculations.
....."Who is this wonderful helper?" you ask. [continued at right - "Wonderful Helper???"]

Trip #1...

I'm planning my first trip. You can take a look at the map below.

I think I'll stay in Prescott overnight, and then hit Wickenburg and home the next day. I'll just take my time, enjoy the scenery, catch a local sight
or two, eat and etc. It's a total of about six hours driving time (taking into consideration the way 'Yours Truly" will be driving).

It's quite amazing to even be 'thinking' about doing something like this... with the history of my 'fear factor' and lack of driving experience.

But I'm proud (and excited) to be thinking and planning for this trip. And it moves me a little closer to bigger travels, like PG and I had planned on doing together..

1. Would there be time to do something special in Prescott? Yes... check out Whiskey Row, see Court House Square, go to the Heritage Park Zoo, enjoy a Riparian Preserve, eat at the Prescott Pantry, to name a few!

2. Anything special in Wickenburg? How about Desert Caballeros Western Museum? Also, stop at an ice cream parlour... Good Water & Ice.

Tomorrow's the day! I've booked a room in Prescott, and the three of us are ready to pack up and head out! The three of us??? Stubby, Mr. G and Me!

So.... here we gooooooooooooooooooooo........
