.....Well this is an exciting
prospect... a little scary too! More than a little, because I have not ever traveled and explored on my own.
.....Lots of experience being the passenger though. Navigation and map skills, plus reading the street signs... that's been my forte. But I'm
alone now. (Read more about it at
"My Widow's Walk")

.....This is a whole new thing for me. Yet.... never fear! I have a friend, and he gives me confidence. He will help me if I get lost (which I will, as past experience shows), patiently talk me through my mistakes, misunderstandings, and miscalculations.
....."Who is this wonderful helper?" you ask. [continued at right - "Wonderful Helper???"]

My Wish List

There are lots of places I would like to go. I've been reading up on some of them and decided to start a "Wish List" of destinations within Arizona to which I could travel. Some are not very far away and might make good "beginner destinations." Others, of course are further away and would not make good choices right away... better to head out on longer trips after I gain some close-to-home road experience.

Even though some of these places are really not very significant in Arizona history, or "tourist favorites", or whatever, if I've never felt I was capable of driving there before, then they meet the requirements for my list.

So here's the beginning of the list [in no particular order]. I'm sure I will add to it as I travel around:

1. Tempe MarketPlace
2. Wickenburg, AZ
3. Kit Peak Observatory (Tucson)
4. Heard Museum  ( Phoenix)

5. Boyce Thompson
Arboretum (Superior)
6. Prescott AZ
7. Meteor Crater
(Winslow)

8. Holbrook AZ
(Petrified Forest)
9. The BioSphere
10. Painted Desert
11. Page AZ

12. Glen Canyon Dam
13. Lake Powell
14. Rainbow Bridge

I am not sure but I think that I have been to all of those places, except the bio sphere, #5 is really neat in early spring or maybe late fall other than that it gets very warm there
